AK UPGRADE KIT

The AK-47 is a gas-operated assault rifle that was first developed in the Soviet Union in the 1940’s. The design was conceived with the idea for the weapon to be user-friendly, reliable and rugged whilst also keeping in mind mass manufacturing feasibility. Needless to say, the idea worked and decades later – it is one of the most widely used and trusted weapons in the world. The Indian Armed Forces are no exception to this. AK’s have been in service for decades which means soldiers are well versed with its functionality. The advantage with this is that training costs and time are minimal. Additionally, ammunition for the AK-47 (7.62 x 39mm) is not difficult to procure.

The SSS Defence SOPMOD (Special Operations Peculiar MODification) has a tactical folding buttstock which in turn means a much smaller footprint of a weapon. The specially designed flash suppressor means a stealthier weapon altogether. The upgrade is made to be more user friendly and ergonomic by adding a tactical buttstock, cheek rest and butt pad so that the user has the advantage of customising the machine as per personal preferences. The ingeniously simple and rugged design of the dust cover provides a rock solid mount for picatinny rail based optical sighting systems and the quick release hinge also allows the use of longer scopes without the need for quick detach mounts. The Fore-end features quad rails made of Mil-Spec Aluminium Alloys can mount accessories such as Night sights, UBGL, Torches, Laser aiming devices etc. For additional functionality the handguard is also M-LOK compatible. The upgrade kit is completely is made of Mil-spec components which can be field fitted with minimal tools & specialized effort.
